Privacy Policy for Page Translator
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Page Translator accesses webpage text and text-related attributes when the user enables automatic translation, or manually requests translation of the current page. Automatic translation remains enabled across pages and browser restarts until the user turns it off. This website content is used solely to detect the page language and translate eligible text into English.
All language detection and translation is performed locally on the user's device through Chrome's built-in Language Detector and Translator APIs. Chrome may download language models needed by those APIs. Page Translator does not send webpage content to the developer or to an extension-operated server.
Page Translator handles website content only through the temporary, local processing described above. It does not retain, transmit, sell, or share that content. It does not collect or use personal information, browsing history, analytics, or advertising identifiers; create user accounts; or use cookies or external analytics services. Translated text and the originals needed for Restore original remain only in the active page's memory and are discarded when the page is closed or reloaded.
Page Translator uses website access only to provide its user-requested translation feature. It does not use or transfer user data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose unrelated to this single purpose. Humans do not review webpage content processed by the extension.
The automatic translation preference is saved locally on the device. No page content or browsing history is saved in extension storage. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same public URL and the date above will be revised.
