Print Rescue Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how Print Rescue (the “Extension”) handles information.
Information the Extension handles
After the user explicitly chooses a print action, the Extension accesses the active webpage's URL, title, and article content, or the content the user has selected. This is website content and current-page browsing information. The Extension does not access pages in the background or maintain a browsing history.
How the information is used
The information is used only to detect, extract, sanitize, and display the requested content as a clean, printable copy. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, creditworthiness, or any unrelated purpose.
Storage and retention
A sanitized print job is stored temporarily in chrome.storage.session while the Extension opens its print view. A job expires after ten minutes and is deleted immediately after the print view retrieves it. The Extension does not persist or synchronize article content or browsing information.
Sharing and transmission
The Extension does not send webpage content, selected content, or browsing information to the publisher, analytics services, advertising networks, or a developer-operated backend. Source images already referenced by the webpage may be requested directly from their original host so they can appear in the print view. Those requests are subject to the original host's privacy practices.
Permissions
- activeTab: grants temporary access to the current tab only after a user invokes a print action.
- scripting: runs packaged extraction and sanitization code in the active tab after the user's action.
- storage: holds the temporary print job in Chrome session storage.
The Extension does not request persistent host permissions and does not download or execute remote code.
Sale of information and human access
The publisher does not sell user information. Because the Extension does not transmit page content to the publisher, the publisher does not have human access to it.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes to this policy
If the Extension's information practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before those changes are released. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
